KAKATIYA UNIVERSITY The emblem of Kakatiya University (KU) has the ‘Kakatiya Thoranam’ as its central motif and ensconced by a decorative circular border. It is surmounted by the national emblem ‘Ashoka Chakra’ which is supported on by a pair of serpents. Below the ‘Thoranam’ a Poorna Kumbha’ or Kalasham is placed. The name of the university is written on a circular border in English and Devanagari. Below the circular seal on a black banner embellished with ornaments, the name of the university is written in Telugu. At the bottom of the emblem, the motto of the university is written in Sanskrit ‘न हि ज्ञानेन सदृशं पवित्रमिह विद्यते’ (Chapter 4, verse 38 of the Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘In this World, There is Nothing as Pure and Virtuous as the Pursuit of Knowledge’ is inscribed. KALOJI NARAYANA RAO UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES The insignia of Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS) has the Kakatiya Kala Thoranam in the with a backdrop of the map of the State of Telangana. In front of the arch a staff of Caduceus or the Staff of Hermes entwined by a pair of serpentes and a pair of wings supported by an open book is placed. The name and place of the university is written above the motifs. The Kakatiya Thoranam is featured in the official emblem of the State of Telangana. All these motifs are ensconced by a blue circular border which carries the name and place of the university. The seal is supported by a pair of laurels and below the seal, on a banner the motto of the university is inscribed in Telugu ‘సర్వే జనాః సుఖినో భవంతు’ meaning ‘May Everyone be Free from Diseases’.
