NIILM UNIVERSITY The black and brown emblem of NIILM University (NIILMU), Kaithal has a black shield that houses the motifs of the nib of a pen and an open book. Alongside its name is written in brown and black using serif typeface. The shield represents protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the nib represents freedom, intelligence, creativity, professionalism, determination and diligence; the open book denotes education, learning, knowledge and wisdom; the colour brown denotes earthiness, simplicity, stability, humility, warmth, reliability, endurance, timelessness and tradition and black denotes mystery, power, elegance and sophistication.

RAM MANOHAR LOHIYA NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY The black and brown emblem of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University (RMLNLU) has a mortarboard hat surmounting a circular seal with brown border housing the motifs of a person holding a two pan beam balance having  four columns a backdrop. The border is inscribed with its name and place in Devanagari. Its motto in Sanskrit ‘धर्मसंस्थापनार्थाय’ (Shloka 8, Chapter 4, Srimad Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘For the Establishment of Righteousness’ is placed at the bottom of the seal. The mortarboard or Oxford hat symbolises educational achievement, equality, tradition and rights of passage; the person holding the balance and the beam balance denote justice, healing and life; the colour brown denotes earthiness, simplicity, stability, humility, warmth, reliability, endurance, timelessness and tradition and the colour black denotes mystery, power, elegance and sophistication.

AHMEDABAD UNIVERSITY Ahmedabad University is a private, non-profit research university that offers students a liberal education focused on interdisciplinary learning and research thinking. The logo has a pictorial and a wordmark in brown and black respectively. It is inspired by its purpose of continuous progress of self and society and the rich heritage of Ahmedabad. This is represented by the pictorial in the form of minimal graphic illustration of stepwell. The stepwell symbolises the relationship between the self and society. At the core of the structure is the self, which must grow with the aim of transforming society for the better, thus bettering itself too. D.Y. PATIL UNIVERSITY The D.Y. Patil University (Institution Deemed to be University) was established under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 vide MHRD notification No: F.9-26/2004-U-3 dated September 1, 2005. The emblem of the university is a nib of a pen in reddish brown colour with an open book at the end of the split of the nib, which is surrounded by a rising sun. The upper portion of the nib is shaped like a shield and has black outline. The nib symbolises freedom, intelligence, creativity, professionalism, determination and diligence; shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the book denotes knowledge and wisdom and the rising sun denotes light, universal prosperity and path for growth. The reddish brown colour symbolises being solid, resilience, dependability, security and safety.

THE NEOTIA UNIVERSITY The Neotia University (TNU) is one of the noble initiatives by the AmbujaNeotia Group that is headquartered in Kolkata. The Neotia University was established vide the West Bengal State Government University Act XXIII of 2014. The logo of the university is a monogram created by using the acronym of its name in black colour. It is topped by a brown colour bar on its left side top. The brown colour bar signifies the earthiness, simplicity, stability, humility, warmth, reliability, endurance, timelessness and tradition and the black colour symbolises neutrality, practicality, efficiency, mystery, power,elegance and sophistication. Below the monogram its motto is written in Sanskrit ‘ज्ञानम् आत्म प्रदीपाय’ meaning ‘Knowledge is Lamp for the Inner Self’.

CENTRAL UNIVERSITY OF ODISHA

CENTRAL UNIVERSITY OF ODISHA The Central University of Odisha (CUO) has been established by the Parliament under the Central Universities Act, 2009 (No. 3C of 2009). The logo of CUO has the wheel of Konark Sun temple supported by an open book and a traditional lamp on a black shield with thick brown border. These colours represent the geography. These are circumscribed by its name and the place ‘Koraput’ it is located. The wheel represents the time and the continuous evolution of the world and life. The lamp shows light and the path to discover and the open book is the source of knowledge and wisdom.

NALANDA UNIVERSITY

NALANDA UNIVERSITY The establishment of ancient Nalanda as an undisputed seat of learning was a historical consequence of its context. Almost simultaneously, the Singapore government presented the ‘Nalanda Proposal’ to the Government of India suggesting the re-establishment of ancient Nalanda to make it as the focal point of Asia once again. Leaders of sixteen member states of the East Asia Summit (EAS) endorsed the proposal to re- establish Nalanda, when they met in the Philippines in January 2007. At the fourth EA Summit held in October 2009, at Hua Hin, Thailand, more members affirmed the merit of establishing Nalanda University. The project took off, when the Nalanda University Act 2010 was passed in both the Houses of the Indian Parliament. In September 2014, the university opened its doors for the first batch of students. RAIL VIKAS NIGAM LIMITED RVNL was incorporated as PSU on 24.01.2003. The idea of was to bridge the infrastructure deficit on Indian Railways and accordingly National Rail Vikas Yojana (NRVY) was announced on August 15, 2002. NRVY was formally launched by the Prime Minister of India on December 26, 2002 and to implement the NRVY, RVNL was incorporated. Its logo is a monogram made with its acronym ‘RV’in brown and a black line symbolising a track supports it from the left to its top.

NATIONAL ALUMINIUM COMPANY LIMITED National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) is a Schedule ‘A’ Navratna CPSE established on January 7, 1981, having its registered office at Bhubaneswar. It is one of the largest integrated bauxite-alumina-aluminium- power complexes in the Country. Its logo has a monogram of its acronym ‘NA’ depicted as a furnace in brown colour in a circle and is supported on both the sides with its full acronym in Devanagari and English.

THE ENGLISH AND FOREIGN LANGUAGES UNIVERSITY The English and Foreign Languages University (TEFLU), Hyderabad, was founded in 1958 as the Central Institute of English (CIE). It was renamed the Central Institute of Foreign Languages (CIEFL) in 1972. In 1973, CIEFL was awarded the status of a deemed university. In 2006-2007, CIEFL was given Central University status by an Act of Parliament and accordingly renamed The English and Foreign Languages University. Its circular emblem with a globe of the world with longitudes and latitudes in black is superimposed by its acronym ‘EFL’ as bordered sans serif capital letters in brown. It has its motto in Sanskrit ‘सर्वं शब्देन भासते’ on top and ‘Words Illuminate the World’ at the bottom.
