MEDICAL RESEARCH CENTRE OF THE KASTURBA HEALTH SOCIETY The circular emblem of the Medical Research Centre of the Kasturba Health Society (MRC-KHS) has the profiles of Kasturba and Mahatma Gandhi placed inside a circle and ensconced by a border on which its name is inscribed.

MGM INSTITUTE OF HEALTH SCIENCES

MGM INSTITUTE OF HEALTH SCIENCES MGM Institute of Health Sciences (MGMIHS) was conferred Deemed to be University status under Section 3 of UGC Act 1956 by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Government of India on August 30, 2006. MGMIHS consists of MGM Medical College, Navi Mumbai and MGM Medical College, Aurangabad which were established in the year 1989 and 1990 respectively. Its emblem is a circular motif of Mahatma Gandhi being led by a young lad holding his walking stick, this is symbolic of the necessity and the requirement of young people to train and assume leadership roles in their chosen fields in an exemplary manner. 

SABARMATI UNIVERSITY

SABARMATI UNIVERSITY Sabarmati University is Gujarat’s first state private dual mode university located in Ahmedabad. The university was established in 2009 by the Gujarat Act No: 8 passed by the State Legislature and further amended with Act No: 20 in the year 2019. The circular violet colour emblem of the university has a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi with the river Sabrmati and the cityscape in the background. These are ensconced by a circular border which bear the university’s motto in Sanskrit ‘विद्या नाम नरस्य कीर्तिरतुला भाग्यक्षये चाश्रयो’ meaning ‘Education is an incomparable fame; She gives shelter when fate is destroyed’. The bottom of the border has a banner which bears the name of the university in Devanagari. The violet colour symbolises creativity, imagination, spirituality, calm and contemplation, intuition, inspiration and a connection to higher states of consciousness.

PRAVASI BHARATIYA DIVAS

PRAVASI BHRATIYA DIVAS January 9 commemorates the return of Mahatma Gandhi from South Africa to India in 1915. To mark this day, the tradition of celebrating Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) started in 2003. First PBD Convention was organised on January 9, 2003, to mark the contribution of the overseas Indian community to the development of India. Since 2015, under a revised format, PBD Convention has been organised once every two years. The logo of PBD has an arc of tricolour above the Ashoka Chakra supported by three different coloured human icons.
