CENTRAL INSTITUTE OF FISHERIES TECHNOLOGY The blue colour fish like emblem of Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (CIFT) has the shape of fish holding water, in which a circle is placed. Inside the circle, the motifs of a fishing trawler on a waterbody and fishing net are placed alongwith its acronym. The circle is surmounted by its acronym in Devanagari. The colour blue symbolises serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.

KERALA UNIVERSITY OF FISHERIES AND OCEAN STUDIES The circular emblem in tones of blue of Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS) has the motifs of a Chinese fishing net, a fishing trawler, a fish, a conch and a prawn placed on a circle holding sky and ocean. This circle is ensconced by a three dimensional border, on which its name, its year of establishment and its motto in Latin ‘Fiat Piscis’ meaning ‘Let it be Done’ is inscribed. The motifs represent the educational domain of the university. Below the circle, an open book symbolising education, knowledge and wisdom is placed. The colour blue signifies water, river, ocean, and other water bodies. It also signifies serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.
