DR. HARISINGH GOUR VISHWAVIDYALAYA
DR. HARISINGH GOUR VISHWAVIDYALAYA Dr. Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya Sagar (DHGV)(A Central University), formerly University of Saugor, was established on July 18, 1946 by Dr. Sir Hari Singh Gour by his lifetime savings. The university’s emblem is circular with motifs of a mountain, rising sun, a waterbody and lotus with leaves. It is circumscribed by its name, name of its founder and its motto in Sanskrit ‘असतो मा सदगमय’ meaning ‘From Ignorance to Knowledge’.
