DOON UNIVERSITY The insignia of Doon University (DU) houses the motifs of  rising sun with rays of surmounting the Himalayan Mountains and flowing waters supported by its name in Devanagari and English, its year of establishment and an open book. Its motto in Sanskrit ‘ज्योतिर्वृणीत तमसो विजानन्’ (3-39-7 Rigveda) meaning ‘The Discriminating (Indra) has Separated the Light from the Darkness’ is written along the mountains. A circular line ensconces the motifs. HIMGIRI ZEE UNIVERSITY The emblem of Himgiri Zee University (HZU) has a circle holding the motifs of Mount Himalayas with rising sun in horizon, which is ensconced in a blue circular border which carries the name of the university supported by a pair of stars. On the blue banner at the bottom of the circular seal, its motto in Sanskrit ‘वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम्’ (Mantra VI-72, Maha Upanishad) meaning ‘The Whole World is One Family’ is written. The mountains represent geography; the rising sun denotes life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity and the colour blue denotes serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.

UNIVERSITY OF LADAKH The University of Ladakh (UoL) was established in 2019 and is the only trans-Himalayan Institute of higher learning and research with headquarters and campuses both in Leh and Kargil. The insignia of the university has a shield placed within a nine petalled lotus supported by a pair of laurels. The shield holds the motif of rising sun, supported by its acronym and ensconced by four hands holding one another and its motto ‘March Forth’. The top two corners of the shield have the motifs of Asiatic ibex. At the bottom, on a banner the name of the university and its year of establishment are written. UTTARAKHAND OPEN UNIVERSITY Uttarakhand Open University (also known as UOU Haldwani) was established in 2005 with the aim of disseminating knowledge and skills through distance learning. The logo of UOI consists of a stylized image of a snow capped mountain range with the sun rising behind it. A river flows from the mountains into green plains. Below these motifs an open supports an icon of a person with a mortarboard hat is placed. The name of the university is written in both Devanagari and English below the image on its blue circular border. The border also bears the motto in Sanskrit ‘श्रद्धावाँल्लभते ज्ञानं’a quote from the slokas of Srimad Bhagavad Gita meaning ‘One Who is Devoted Attains Knowledge’. INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY MANDI Indian Institute of Technology Mandi (IIT Mandi) has been established with the vision to be a leader in science and technology education, knowledge creation and innovation, in an India marching towards a just, inclusive and sustainable society.
