ODISHA STATE OPEN UNIVERSITY
ODISHA STATE OPEN UNIVERSITY Odisha State Open University has been established through the Odisha State Open University Act, 2014 (Odisha Act 5 of 2015) of the State Government dated June 10, 2015 to provide an innovative system of university level education, flexible and open. The emblem of the university is a rectangle divided diagonally in light pink and black. It houses an open book bearing the motifs of a torch and flying bird, supported by its acronym. Below the rectangle the name and place of the university is written in Odia and English. The division of the rectangle symbolises the transformation of an individual from ignorance to enlightenment with knowledge and education. The open book symbolises education, knowledge and wisdom; the torch is an emblem of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power and the flying bird symbolises the stakeholder who flies with freedom, the knowledge, which is acquired from the university.
