SHRI JAGDISH PRASAD JHABARMAL TIBREWALA UNIVERSITY Shri Jagdishprasad Jhabarmal Tibrewala University (JJTU) was established in 2009. JJTU was founded by Shri Rajasthani Sewa Sangh, Mumbai in the name of Shri Jagdishprasad Jhabarmal Tibrewala. The circular yellow, gold and brown toned emblem of the university has an open book with wings symbolising the freedom one shall get with knowledge and wisdom; the human behind the book with hands spread symbolising openness, willingness and acceptance placed on a background of desert sands with camel and glowing sun. The desert and the camel represent the geography of the locale and the sun signifies light, universal prosperity and path for growth. Its acronym is placed behind the book and the human motif. All these are ensconced in a circular golden border, with its name written in on it and supported by a pair of laurels which symbolise success, victory and achievement. TRAINING COMMAND Prior to 1939, there was hardly any training carried out in India either of pilots or ground engineers, there was no organisation at Air HQ level for this purpose. However, when it became impossible to send Indians to the UK for training due to war, it was decided to create training facilities in the country itself. To cater to the expansion of the IAF, a target of 300 pilots and 3000 technical personnel was fixed. To cope with such a large training commitment, a Directorate of Training was formed in Air HQ. A Recruits Training Centre (for discipline, drill, etc.) and a non-technical training centre was formed at Lahore. No.1 Technical School at Ambala provided technical training. These training centres provided intensive training courses, designed to make the trainees fit to shoulder responsibilities as soon as they were posted to the Units after passing out.
