KHALLIKOTE UNITARY UNIVERSITY The Khallikote Unitary University (KUU) started functioning from August 1, 2021, through Government letter No. 31432/HE, dated August 6, 2021. This university started as a school in 1856 in Berhampur and became an intermediate College named Native College in 1878. It became Khallikote Autonomous College in 1893 and it was under affiliation to Berhampur University The emblem of the university has an open book supporting a traditional lamp surmounted by its acronym ‘KCB’ with wings. All these motifs have elaborate decorations around them. These are surmounted by its name in Odiya and by the name of its place at the bottom. Its motto in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ (Yajnavalkya,1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad) meaning ‘From Darkness Lead me to Light’ is written on the book.
