SOFTWARE TECHNOLOGY PARKS OF INDIA The blue and black logo of Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) has a wordmark of its acronym in English and Devanagari  in extra bold sans serif typeface in blue is overdrawn by a satellite antenna and supported by a floppy. The logo was prominent and informative and highly legible. The colour blue denotes serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.

BHASKARACHARYA NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR SPACE APPLICATIONS AND GEO-INFORMATICS The cyan and magenta emblem of Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics (BISAG-N) has its acronym written as wordmark in sans serif bold typeface in dual colours representing sky and earth. The ‘I’ has a globe representing earth in magenta with a satellite revolving around it. This is a bright and bold logo with the colour cyan denoting sky, hope and spring, peace, tranquillity, calmness, relaxation and emotional balance and magenta denoting compassion, kindness and cooperation.

INSTITUTE OF INFRASTRUCTURE TECHNOLOGY RESEARCH AND MANAGEMENT The circular greenish blue and light green emblem of Institute of Infrastructure Technology Research and Management (IITRAM) has a circle with the motifs of satellite communication, a large dam of water and an electrical distribution tower. These are ensconced by a circular border on which its name and place are inscribed. The circumference of the border is decorated with motifs of a number of human beings holding their hands together. The motifs symbolise the branches of engineering and science the university offers; the humans holding hands denote unity is strength. The colours are sober and friendly and attractive for its simplicity.

CHHATTISGARH SWAMI VIVEKANAND TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY The emblem of the Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University (CSVTU) has gear wheel, houses Ashoka Chakra, the national emblem surrounded by satellite antenna, a satellite, a bridge and a testing instrument. The gear wheel is inscribed with the name and place of the university.  Below the gear wheel, on a banner its motto in Sanskrit ‘ज्ञानं ज्ञेयं परिज्ञाता’ (Shloka 18, Chapter 18, Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘Knowledge, the Object of Knowledge and the Knower’. It was initially known as the Institute of Computer Science and Technology. In 1988, the institute received affiliation from Bharathidasan University to offer postgraduate diploma programmes in computer applications. INDIAN INSTITUTE OF SPACE SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY The Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) situated at Thiruvananthapuram is a Deemed University under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956. It was formally inaugurated on September 14, 2007. The circular emblem of the university has an aerial view of earth bearing its motto in Sanskrit ‘विद्या सन्धिः प्रवचनम् सन्धानम्’ (Hymn 5, Siksha Valli, Part 1 Taittiriya Upanishad, Yajur Veda) meaning ‘Education is the conjunction between the acharya or teacher, the base element and the disciple the secondary element. Teaching acts as a catalyst’. The emblem is superimposed by its acronym developed into a monogram in glowing cyan colour, in which the ‘i’s are treated like humans and the ‘s’ is treated as trajectory of a rocket with a rocket at the bottom and a satellite on the top and the letter ‘t’ is treated a s plus mark or a locator. The outer line of the emblem becomes bold and takes a concave shape at the bottom right.

TAMILNADU OPEN UNIVERSITY Tamilnadu Open University (TNOU) commenced its academic operations in 2003-04. The green colour circular emblem bears the motifs of a globe,supported by an open book and crested by a traditional lamp; a transmission tower and a computer. All these are ensconced in a circular border, which bears the name of the university in Tamil and English. At the bottom on a green banner, its motto in Tamil ‘எல்லோருக்கும் எப்போதும் கல்வி’ meaning ‘Education for Everyone Always’.The globe denotes the reach of the open education; the transmission tower and computer signify the role these technologies play in this form of education; the open book denotes knowledge and wisdom and the traditional lamp denotes light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity.
