The brown colour shield is the insignia of the National law School of India University (NLSIU) has a two-pan beam balance representing justice as wielded by statues of Lady Justice and the supporting hands signify the support for justice, healing and life; an open book denoting education, learning, knowledge and wisdom and a map of the Republic of India denoting the university’s service to the nation. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery and the colour brown symbolises earthiness, simplicity, stability, humility, warmth, reliability, endurance, timelessness and tradition. Below the shield, its motto in Sanskrit meaning ‘धर्मो रक्षति रक्षितः’ (Verse 8.15, Manusmriti, Mahabharata) meaning ‘Those Who Protect the Dharma are Protected by Dharma’ is inscribed.

On December 27, 2002 RIT, Jamshedpur was upgraded to National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur with the Deemed University status. Its insignia in the form of an oblong shield has a number of elements and motifs within. The peacock in its emblem represents the exuberance and pride in IIM Rohtak’s vision to be a global leader, while the Sanskrit words which read ‘Management Through Knowledge and Values’ (ज्ञानेन गुणेन च प्रबंधः) signify IIM Rohtak’s mission of knowledge diffusion, social commitment and value system (or corporate governance). VVCE is an autonomous institute affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi. Its emblem is a gearwheel with sixteen teeth in a dark violet colour encompassing a yellow border and a light green circle. The border carries the name of the college. The light green circle has a magnetic circuit, a manufacturing plant, a satellite, a dish antenna and a transmission tower, a tree, a bridge, a computer and a flask. This covers all the major areas of learning in the college. Its acronym is placed below the emblem.

NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY ANDHRA PRADESH National Institute of Technology, Andhra Pradesh (NIT AP) is the thirty-first institution among the chain of NITs started by the Government of India. NIT Andhra Pradesh was established in the state of Andhra Pradesh recently in the academic year 2015-2016. Its circular emblem has a ‘Poorna Kumbham’ or ‘Kalasha’ which means ‘Full or Complete Vessel’ when the pot is referred to as the Kalasha. The Purna-Kalasha is considered a symbol of abundance and 'Source of Life' in the Vedas. Purna-Kumbha is a Vedic motif, known from the time of Rigveda. It is held above the lotus, which is supported by a book and a pair of laurels of cereal on both the sides.
