The cyan colour emblem of Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication (MCNUJC) has a nib of a pen held by a sheaf of papers or open book in a cyan circle, which is ensconced by a white border on which its name and motto in Sanskrit ‘आ नो भद्राः क्रतवो यन्तु विशवतः’ (1.89.1, Rig Veda) meaning ‘May We Receive Good Thoughts from All Sides’ are inscribed. The nib supports an antenna. The motifs are circumscribed by twelve inward oriented arrows and formed by motifs of twelve human heads placed around the circle. The nib refers to freedom, intelligence, creativity, professionalism, determination and diligence; the open book refers to knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; the arrows and humans refers to collecting and dissemination of information and news and the colour cyan refers to  sky, hope and spring, peace, tranquillity, calmness, relaxation and emotional balance.

RAJMATA VIJAYARAJE SCINDIA KRISHI VISHWA VIDYALAYA The Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Gwalior was established by Government of Madhya Pradesh on August 19, 2008 by bifurcating the JNKVV, Jabalpur. The green toned circular emblem of the university has a motif of a farmer tilling the soil using cattle and plough placed over an open book signifying the knowledge, wisdom and education of agriculture. Below this its motto in Sanskrit ‘कृषि मूलम् जगत् सर्वम्’ meaning ‘Agriculture is the Root of the World’ is written. All these are ensconced in two circular borders, of which one carries its name and place in English and the outer one carries its name and place in Devanagari supported by a pair of wheat ears. The ears of wheat signifies prosperity, food, wealth and nourishment and the colour green signifies agriculture, nature, growth, balance, harmony, environment, prosperity, vitality, prestige, wealth and being very down to earth.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written.
