Indian Institute of Information Technology Surat (IIIT-Surat) is an Institute of National Importance established under the Act of Parliament 2017, by erstwhile Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, on not-for-profit and in Public Private Partnership basis. Its emblem has a blue bordered white shield, has sun and two individuals supported by ‘IIIT’ in the national tricolours. The shield is the guarding and protecting the learners and the sun symboilises knowledge and growth. The abstract presentation of the acronym is a symbolism of programming code. At the bottom, its motto in Sanskrit ‘ज्ञाने च उध्यमे सर्व प्रतिष्ठितम्’ meaning ‘Everything is Achieved through Knowledge and Hard Work’ is written.

UNIVERSITY OF JAMMU The University of Jammu (UoJ) came into existence in 1969 through the Kashmir and Jammu Universities Act 1969 following bifurcation of the erstwhile University of Jammu and Kashmir. The circular emblem of the university has an open book supporting a lotus with a background of mountains and surmounted by atomic structure. These are ensconced by a yellow circular border which carries its motto in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ (Yajnavalkya,1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad) meaning ‘From Darkness Lead me to Light’ on one side and its name in Kashmiri on the other side. SANT GAHIRA GURU VISHWAVIDYALAYA The circular emblem of Sant Gahira Guru Vishwavidyalaya (SGCG), formerly known a s Sarguja University has a circular border in orange and green and has its name, place and motto inscribed in Devanagari and supported by a pair of tribal ornaments. The motto is written in Sanskrit which is an extract from the Kathopanishad ‘विद्ययाऽमृतमश्नुते’, (Shloka 11, Ishopanishad) meaning ‘Immortality is Gained from Learning’.
