The emblem of Indian Institute of Teacher Education (IITE) has an open book supporting a rising sun on which its acronym is written. The ‘T’ of the acronym is shown as a teacher writing on a green board. All these are ensconced by a border on which its name and place are inscribed. The open book denotes education, knowledge, learning and wisdom and the rising sun denotes Indian Institute of Teacher Education. Its motto in Sanskrit ‘न हि ज्ञानेन सदृशं पवित्रमिह विद्यते’ (Chapter 4, verse 38 of the Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘In this World, There is Nothing as Pure and Virtuous as the Pursuit of Knowledge’ is inscribed at the bottom of the seal.
