AND FISHERIES UNIVERSITY

Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University (KVAFSU) was formed as per the Karnataka Act No. 9 of 2004 called The Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries University Act 2004 and published in the Karnataka Gazette Extraordinary on February 23, 2004. Eight colleges, three polytechnic colleges, one kendra, one institute of biologicals and extension centres. The emblem of the university has the map of Karnataka and several motifs connected with its domain of knowledge are placed in a circle. These are topped and bottomed by the slogan ‘Animal Wealth Nation’s Wealth’. Written in Kannada and English. This circle has a blue border with a yellow outline, which bears the name of the university and place. At the bottom on a yellow banner its motto in Kannada ‘ರೈತರಿಗೆ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತ ಮತ್ತು ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಉದ್ದೇಶ’ and English 'Rural Oriented & Farmer Friendly’ are written.

DARBHANGA COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING (DCE DARBHANGA) The emblem of Darbhanga College of Engineering (DCE Darbhanga) features a gearwheel inscribed with the name of the college and the motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘योगः कर्मसु कौशलम्’ (Verse 50, Chapter 2, Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘Yoga is Skill in Action’. Inside the gear lies a dynamic combination of industrial equipment and technical structures, signifying active research, production, and technological innovation. SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.
