Sri Jagadguru Murugharajendra University (SJMU) came into existence from June 13, 2022. The logo of the university has a grey coloured oval shape bearing the acronym of the university’s name in blue colour is gently held by an orange palm. Below these the motto of the university ‘Enlightenment is a Precious Ornament’ is written. Oval shape represents uniqueness and individuality, as well as pushing boundaries while still respecting and honouring tradition. Because the oval is the shape of an egg, this shape also symbolises fertility, rebirth and family. The supporting palm is associated with truth, honesty and openness. The colour orange signifies energy, vitality, creativity, inspiration, joy and happiness and blue denotes serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.

THE JAMMU & KASHMIR LIGHT INFANTRY India's first Light Infantry was born out of the peoples' response in 1947, to the invasion of Kashmir by Pakistan. In the difficult days of the invasion, the population formed local defence groups. These were later organised into militias responsible for specific sectors, e.g., Leh, Nubra, Jammu, Punch, etc. Over a period, these were grouped into the Militia battalions. Two of these were later converted into the Ladakh Scouts. The militia battalions operated with skill on the Line of Control (LoC) and in the 1971 Indo-Pak War earned three battle honours. In 1972, the militia battalions were brought on par with the army units, and in 1976 designated the Jammu & Kashmir Light Infantry (JAK LI). The 8th JAK LI earned great honour by capturing a Pakistani post at 21,000 feet at the Siachen Glacier in 1987. MAHATMA GANDHI CHITRAKOOT GRAMODAY VISHWAVIDYALAYA The emblem of Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramoday Vishwavidyalaya (MGCGV) has a crown of wheat supported by the footwear of Mahatma Gandhi with a rising sun in the background. These are supported by a partial wheel of gear, in the counter of which its motto in Sanskrit ‘विश्वं ग्रामे प्रतिष्टितम्' meaning 'The World is Established from the Village' is inscribed. The crown of wheat symbolises agriculture and village produce; the pair of footwear of Mahatma denote that the university follows in the footsteps of his ideals; the rising sun denotes life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity and the gear wheel denotes interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure.
