ORGANISATION
Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is the R&D wing of Ministry of Defence, Government of India, with a vision to empower India with cutting-edge defence technologies and a mission to achieve self-reliance in critical defence technologies and systems, while equipping the nation's armed forces with state-of-the-art weapon systems and equipment in accordance with requirements laid down by the three Services. Its circular insignia has the motifs of Indian armed forces in the middle, above which a gear wheel is placed and these are crested by the National Emblem in a light yellow background. The motto of the organisation in Sanskrit 'बलस्य मूलं विज्ञानम्' meaning 'The Source of Strength is Science' is placed below. It has a white border in which its name and the name of the controlling ministry are written in Devanagari and English. This is ensconced by a blue border which has its acronym in Hindi and English in white.
