The emblem of Maharishi Valmiki Sanskrit University (MVSU) has a Dakshinavarti Shankh (conch) on a purple circular background. The conch is supported by its motto in Sanskrit ‘पावका नः सरस्वती’ (Rig Veda 1.3.10) meaning ‘Sarasvatī, the Purifier’ and circumscribed by its name, place and its status. THese are ensconced by a red circular border on which a glowing sun is placed. The Dakshinavarti Shankh the presence of the Goddess Lakshmi and is said to represent the auspiciousness of the universe; the sun refers to the refers to the life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity and the colour purple symbolises royalty, nobility, luxury, power and ambition.
