The National Institute of Technology Goa (NIT Goa) is a premier technical Institute of the region was established in the year 2010. The emblem of this institute is dominantly blue and circular with a white border. The border carries its name in Deavanagari and English along with its motto in Sanskrit ‘सा विद्या या विमुक्तये' meaning ‘True Knowledge Liberates’. Inside the circle in cyan background a Florence Nightingale oil lamp with flame is placed surrounded by a sprocket wheel. The oil lamp represents the dedication and selfless work of nurses and in this case by the Institute. Nightingale’s dedication remained steadfast even after the war was over. She returned to London and put up the first nursing school where she trained several nurses to have the same dedication and compassion that she always had. Because of her, the once nursing profession common among old women and nuns has now become a highly reputable profession. An actual oil lamp has now become synonymous with compassion, reliability and goodwill, all attributes significant to the practice of nursing.

NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR SMART GOVERNMENT National Institute for Smart Government (NISG) was set up as a non-profit company setup in Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) in 2002 with 51% equity contributed by the private sector and 49% by the public sector under the recommendations of The National Taskforce on Information Technology and Software Development. The NISG was registered as a Section 25 company in May 2002 with its headquarters at Hyderabad. The vision of NISG is to establish itself as a centre of excellence in e-Governance to facilitate application of public and private resources to e-Governance in the areas of: strategic planning, project consulting, capacity building, and research and innovation. The NISG logo has a unique typeface wherein the letter ‘N’ has been shown as a bridge which depicts the connection between public and private sector.

SANT BABA BHAG SINGH UNIVERSITY The emblem of Sant Baba Bhag Singh University (SBBSU) in orange and blue has a Khanda forming the background for orange rising sun supported by an open book and a pair of laurels on sides surmounted by its acronym. KARNATAKA POLICE Police in Karnataka were called by various names in different regions. After initiation of policing, they were initially called Thoti, Talwar, Umbalidhar, Kattubidi, Neeraganti etc. The police primarily with policing used to do other jobs entrusted to them. Mysore State was the predecessor to Karnataka State, which was created on November 1, 1965. Sri. L. Rickets was appointed as first Inspector General of Police.
