HARICHAND GURUCHAND UNIVERSITY

The blue colour circular emblem of Harichand Guruchand University (HGU) has the monogram of its acronym placed on the motif of an open book surmounted by a mortarboard hat and supported by the numerals of its year of establishment. All theses are placed in a blue circle with white outline and ensconced by a blue border, which carries its name in Bengali and English. The open book symbolises knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; the mortarboard or oxford hat denotes educational achievement, equality, tradition and rights of passage; saffron triangular flags on the border denote sacrifice; the colour blue signifies serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.
