The insignia of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University (ABVMU) has a circular seal supported by a blue banner bearing its motto in Sanskrit ‘आरोग्यमेव अटल अमृतम्’ meaning ‘Health is the Ultimate Nectar’. The emblem houses the motifs of the Staff of Caduceus or the Staff of Hermes with a pair of wings and entwined serpents supporting rising sun and supported by an open book at the bottom and a pair of fish on sides on a white circle. The circle is ensconced in a blue border which carries its name in English and Devanagari. The sun denotes life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; the staff denotes medicine and medical profession; the fish represent the State of Uttar Pradesh and the open book denotes education, learning, knowledge and wisdom.
