EX-SERVICEMEN CONTRIBUTORY HEALTH SCHEME

Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) was launched with effect from April 1, 2003. The Scheme aims to provide allopathic and AYUSH medicare to ex-servicemen pensioners and their dependents through a network of ECHS Polyclinics, Service medical facilities, government hospitals, empanelled private hospitals/specified Government AYUSH hospitals spread across the country. The insignia of ECHS has a shield divided in three parts horizontally by the colours of army, navy and air force namely red, blue and light blue has a pair of crossed swords, an anchor and an eagle crested by a the National Emblem. At the bottom, on a banner the name of the organisation is written.
