UNIVERSITY OF CALICUT 

University of Calicut (UoC), the largest University in Kerala in terms of the expanse, affiliated colleges and the number of degrees awarded was established in the year 1968. It is the second university to be started in Kerala. ‘Nirmaya Karmana Sree’ being the motto ,which denotes ‘Prosperity will be Generated Through Pure Actions’. It is governed by Calicut University Act 1975, passed by the Legislative Assembly of Kerala. The seal of the university has a lighthouse with a weathercock showing directions and its motto in Sanskrit ‘निर्मय कर्माणा श्रीः’ is written on it are ensconced by a circular border which carries its name in English and its motto in Malayalam ‘നിർമ്മായ  കർമ്മണാ ശ്രീ:’. The platform of the lighthouse is inscribed with the name of the university. The lighthouse and the weathercock are the beacons of knowledge and education showing the path to the aspirants.

EMBLEM OF MAHARASHTRA The emblem of the State of Maharashtra is a circular seal depicting a Samai Diva Lamp surrounded by 16 lotus blooms. Between the Samai lamp and lotus blossoms is a motto in Sanskrit 'प्रतिपच्चंद्रलेखेव वर्धिष्णुर्विश्व वंदिता महाराष्ट्रस्य राज्यस्य मुद्रा भद्राय राजते' ( Pratipaccandralēkhēva vardhiṣṇurviśva vanditā mahārāṣṭrasya rājyasya mudrā bhadrāya rājatē ), which translates as ‘The Glory of this Seal of the State Government of Maharashtra will Grow like the First day Moon. It will be worshipped by the world and will shine only for the well being of its people’. The motto is based on one found on the (rajmudra) ‘royal seal’ used by 17th century Maratha king Chhatrapati Shivaji, the only difference being that the name of the monarch is replaced by the name of the State.

DHANALAKSHMI SRINIVASAN COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCE (SDCATS) The emblem of Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of Arts and Science (SDCATS) features a circle housing a torch with flame, a pair of folded hands ‘ Namaste ’, an open book and a lotus ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. The motto of the college ' Learning for Excellence ’ is inscribed on a banner placed below the seal. MAHARISHI UNIVERSITY OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY The three layered circular insignia of Maharishi University of Information Technology (MUIT) has a glowing sun in yellow carrying its name and motto ‘From Potentiality to Actuality Through Creative Intelligence’ in the outer; its name and motto in Devanagari in the middle and a motif of a big tree with foliage and roots topped by its acronym in the centre circles. MARATHWADA MITRA MANDAL'S COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING ( MMCOE ) The emblem of Marathwada Mitra Mandal's College of Engineering (MMCOE) features a line drawing of the mural of Bodhisattva Padmapani from the Cave 1 of Ajanta Caves which date back to the 5th century, with an arch from the same period and supported by the letter ‘M’ denoting the name of the college. The motto of the college in Marathi ‘येथे बहतांचे हित’ meaning ‘Welfare of the Masses’ is inscribed at the bottom.
