The emblem of Mormugao Port Authority (MPA) has the motifs of an anchor, a lighthouse, a ship and a pair of arrows depicting repetition placed on an elliptical globe of the world. Below the ship, its acronym is written in bold red typeface and its name written in Devanagari below that. The motifs refer to port, shipping, loading and unloading and servicing the globe. The colour blue symbolises serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty; the colour red symbolises passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy and celebration and the colour cyan denotes sky, hope and spring, peace, tranquillity, calmness, relaxation and emotional balance.

KARNATAKA POLICE Police in Karnataka were called by various names in different regions. After initiation of policing, they were initially called Thoti, Talwar, Umbalidhar, Kattubidi, Neeraganti etc. The police primarily with policing used to do other jobs entrusted to them. Mysore State was the predecessor to Karnataka State, which was created on November 1, 1965. Sri. L. Rickets was appointed as first Inspector General of Police. During the rule of Maharajas of Mysore, the policing existed in different variants.
