PROFESSOR JAYASHANKAR TELANGANA STATE AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY

The green and red circular seal of Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) has a gear wheel holding a map of the State of Telangana housing the motifs of spikes of cereal, a satellite dish antenna, a village house, an open book and a microscope. All these motifs symbolise agriculture and agricultural education and research in Telangana. The gear wheel denotes interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure. The gear is surrounded by a white border, which bears the name of the university in Telugu and its year of establishment. This is supported by a pair of laurels meaning ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication. All these are ensconced by a red circular border on which its name is inscribed.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.

The circle is ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name of the college in Devanagari and English and its year of establishment.
