EAST DELHI MUNICIPAL CORPORATION

East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) was one of the municipal corporations in Delhi, India created after the former Municipal Corporation of Delhi was trifurcated in 2012. Its insignia in the form of a shield in green, red and blue has been divided into three parts. The top two parts show Red Fort and a monument. The dividing line is adorned by Qutub Minar. The third part has an opened book, below which a drain is shown. It is surrounded by a circular border, on which the name of the corporation is written in Hindi and English. This is supported by a pedestal. A banner at the bottom has its motto in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ meaning ‘From Darkness to Light’ is written on it. This colourful logo with yellow, red, green and blue is an interesting attention grabber and stands out prominently in any public place.
