SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRM IST) is one of the top ranking universities in India. SRM was started as Florence Nightingale Primary School in 1969 in Chennai and the SRM Engineering College was launched in Kattankulathur in 1985. In 2002 UGC granted SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai comprising SRM Dental College, Ramapuram as deemed to be University under Sec. 3 of the UGC Act 1956. Its circular emblem with golden yellow border with a blue colour tree in blue background in the centre. It has a white banner at the bottom with its tagline ‘Learn. Leap. Lead’. The name of the university in capital letters in blue colour surrounds the tree. This is a formal and traditionally inspiring seal for an university.

GOVERNMENT ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE, PAPPIREDDIPATTI (GASCPRP) The emblem of Government Arts and Science College, Pappireddipatti (GASCPRP) features shield housing the motifs of the king Athiyaman interacting with poet Avvaiyar, an open book with rising sun and two abstract humans, a tree held by a pair of hands, a computer and an image of Vaniyar Dam, ensconced by a purple circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. At the bottom, a banner inscribed with the motto of the college in Tamil ‘‘கற்றனைத் தூறும் அறிவு’ (Thiruvalluvar, 396, Thirukkural) meaning ‘Knowledge Grows As Much As One Learns’ is inscribed is placed on the seal. Athiyaman and Avvaiyar refer to history and heritage; the book, sun and the humans refer to education and educational achievement; the tree refers to nature, sustenance and growth; the computer refers to technology; and the dam refers to the local landmark.
