The emblem of NCTE has an abstract symbol which shows a pair of hands supporting a light or lotus bud held by a pair of strong hands symbolise, enabling the teachers in their profession. The emblem of the Universityhas its motto ‘सरस्वती श्रुतिमहताम महीयतम्’ (May the sayings of the wise be glorified) which is a quotation from Kalidasa, inscribed in it. The university has adopted a Kalidasean line meaning ‘May the Sayings of the Wise be Glorified’, as its motto.
