Bihar Agricultural University (BAU), Sabour was established August 5, 2010 is a basic and strategic institution supporting more than five hundred researchers and educationists towards imparting education at graduate and postgraduate levels. The emblem of the university has the motifs of a helical structure of DNA, a satellite antenna, an open book and a cow supported by a pair of laurels of wheat heads and ensconced by a gear wheel. These are surrounded by a circular border on which the name and place of the university is inscribed in English and Devanagari. The cow and antenna represent agriculture and information technology; the open book denotes education, knowledge and wisdom, the laurels denote food, prosperity, success and hard work and the gear wheel denotes interconnectedness; efficiency and precision; progress and advancement; synchronisation and timing and order and structure.
