MANDYA UNIVERSITY

The emblem of Mandya University (MUM) has the motif of the iconic monument of ‘Flag Satyagraha’ Shivapura Satyagraha Soudha in Maddur referring to the great freedom struggle, supported by a pair of sugarcanes representing the fertile lands of Cauvery river fed Mandya District. These are ensconced by a green circular border which is inscribed with its name in Kannada and English. A red banner is placed above the seal at the bottom on which its motto in Kannada ‘ಮನುಜಮತ ವಿಶ್ವಪಥ’ (Title of book of essays, Kuvempu) meaning ‘Humanitarian Path’ is inscribed. The colour green represents agriculture, nature, growth, balance, harmony, environment, prosperity, vitality, prestige, wealth and being very down to earth and the colour red symbolises passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy and celebration.

DIGILOCKER DigiLocker is an online service provided by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India under its Digital India initiative. DigiLocker provides an account in cloud to every Indian citizen to access authentic documents and certificates such as driving licence, vehicle registration, academic mark list in digital format from the original issuers of these certificates. It also provides one GB storage space to each account to upload scanned copies of legacy documents. Its emblem in purple colour has a cloud with a keyhole with a background of a document. Its name is written alongside and its tag line is written below the name.

The gearwheel ; the chinar leaf refers to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir; the atom refers to science, engineering and technology; the torches with flames are emblems of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; and the colour blue signifies serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.

The gearwheel is ensconced by a circular border with brown outlines inscribed with the name and place of the college. The seal is supported by a pair of laurels. The motto of the college in Sanskrit in Sanskrit ‘योगः कर्मसु कौशलम्’ (Verse 50, Chapter 2, Bhagavad Gita), which translates to ‘Yoga is Skill in Action’ is written on a green banner with red outlines. The gearwheel denotes education, knowledge, influence, timelessness, global unity and interconnectedness; the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication; and the other motifs refer to the subject disciplines offered by the college.

MAULANA AZAD NATIONAL URDU UNIVERSITY Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) is a Central University established by an Act of Parliament in 1998. The logo of the university has two strokes of orange and green forming the shape of ‘U’ in tricolour and has a ‘Ashoka Chakra’ at its top. This is supported by an open book on which images of an atom and a burning candle are depicted. Its name is written in Urdu atop the emblem on a banner; written in Devanagari on a banner above the logo and in English at its bottom. The book represents knowledge and education; the atom denotes science and the candle denotes light and guidance to discover the unknown.

GOVERNMENT DEGREE COLLEGE, BIJBEHARA (GDC BIJBEHARA) The emblem of Government Degree College, Bijbehara (GDC Bijbehara) features a green chinar leaf supporting an open book inscribed with an Arabic text ‘خَيْرُ جَلِيسٍ فِي الزَّمَانِ كِتَابُ’, which translates to ‘The Best Companion in Time is a Book’ and supporting a lighted candle and ensconced by a yellow circular border inscribed with the name, place and motto of the college. ICAR-INDIAN INSTITUTE OF SUGARCANE RESEARCH The purple and green emblem of ICAR-Indian Institute of Sugarcane Research (IISR) is a wordmark resembling a sugarcane with its vegetative nodes, stalks and sheath-like leaves. The ‘i’s are topped with a gear wheel and  red circle symbolising industrial production and productivity. The letters ‘S’ and ‘R’ are written like a pen to denote research and reporting. Below the wordmark, the name of the Institute is written in Devanagari.
