The blue and green emblem of Karnatak University Dharwad (KUD) has a shield holding the motifs of a banyan tree crested by an open book supported by an elephant and a bull, its motto in Kannada on a white banner and a rising sun over a water body. Below the shield, on a banner the name of the university is written. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the elephant and the bullock denote the symbols of the State of Karnataka; the rising sun denotes life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; the waterbody denotes life, motion and fertility; the banyan tree denotes strength, individuality, expression, calmness, growth, the interconnectedness of everything and perpetuity and the open book refers to learning, knowledge, education and wisdom. The motto on the banner states that ‘ಅರಿವೇ ಗುರು’ meaning ‘Wisdom is Guru’.

JAWAHARLAL NEHRU TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY, KAKINADA Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada (JNTUK) was established in the year 2008 vide Act No. 30 of 2008 by the State of Andhra Pradesh. The university started as College of Engineering Visakhapatnam founded by the Government of the composite Madras State in 1946. The college became a constituent of JNTU, Hyderabad in 1972. INDIAN GRAPE PROCESSING BOARD Keeping the above in mind and to co-ordinate the efforts for promotion and development of the wine industry in India in close association with industry, producers and other stakeholders, the Union Cabinet in its meeting held on January 2, 2009 gave its approval for the establishment of the Indian Grape Processing Board (IGPB) under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, registered as a society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. The Board has its headquarters in Pune, Maharashtra that is close to the principal grape growing and processing areas in the country.
