The blue and green emblem of Karnatak University Dharwad (KUD) has a shield holding the motifs of a banyan tree crested by an open book supported by an elephant and a bull, its motto in Kannada on a white banner and a rising sun over a water body. Below the shield, on a banner the name of the university is written. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the elephant and the bullock denote the symbols of the State of Karnataka; the rising sun denotes life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; the waterbody denotes life, motion and fertility; the banyan tree denotes strength, individuality, expression, calmness, growth, the interconnectedness of everything and perpetuity and the open book refers to learning, knowledge, education and wisdom. The motto on the banner states that ‘ಅರಿವೇ ಗುರು’ meaning ‘Wisdom is Guru’.

Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering (VVCE) is one of the prestigious engineering colleges in Karnataka. Established in 1997. VVCE is an autonomous institute affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi. Its emblem is a gearwheel with sixteen teeth in a dark violet colour encompassing a yellow border and a light green circle. The border carries the name of the college. The light green circle has a magnetic circuit, a manufacturing plant, a satellite, a dish antenna and a transmission tower, a tree, a bridge, a computer and a flask. This covers all the major areas of learning in the college. Its acronym is placed below the emblem.

NIT Andhra Pradesh was established in the state of Andhra Pradesh recently in the academic year 2015-2016. Its circular emblem has a ‘Poorna Kumbham’ or ‘Kalasha’ which means ‘Full or Complete Vessel’ when the pot is referred to as the Kalasha. The Purna-Kalasha is considered a symbol of abundance and 'Source of Life' in the Vedas. Purna-Kumbha is a Vedic motif, known from the time of Rigveda. It is held above the lotus, which is supported by a book and a pair of laurels of cereal on both the sides. NITTE (DEEMED TO BE UNIVERSITY) Nitte (Deemed-to-be University) has its roots in a group of Institutions established by the Nitte Education Trust, which was established in 1979 by Justice KS Hegde, Supreme Court Judge and Speaker of Lok Sabha. The University offers programmes in the disciplines of medicine, allied health sciences, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, physiotherapy, speech and audiology, biological sciences, media & communication and Architecture. Its logo in blue colour has a monogram using ‘N’ on a shield and slicing it along the diagonal central line and its name is placed alongside.
