BABU DINESH SINGH UNIVERSITY
Babu Dinesh Singh University (BDSU) at Garhwa, Jharkhand is a Private University has been established on February 17, 2023. The emblem of the university has a banyan tree supporting a rising sun enclosing a mortarboard hat and acronym of its name and tagline and supported by its year of establishment. These are enclosed in a blue circular border, which carries its name and place.This emblem is placed on a flower spread with twelve blue leaves and twelve greenish blue petals. The emblem is supported on either side by laurels and by a golden banner at the bottom. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्याधनं सर्वधनप्रधानं’ meaning ‘Wealth of Knowledge is the Chief of All Wealth’ is inscribed on the banner. The banyan tree symbolises being self-aware, reflection, meditation, silence, quieting of one’s mind, tree of knowledge and tree of life; the rising sun symbolises light, universal prosperity and path for growth; the mortarboard or Oxford hat denotes educational achievement, equality, tradition and rights of passage; the blue flower signifies serenity, calmness and peace and the laurels denote hard work, dedication, victory and achievement.

EMBLEM OF MAHARASHTRA The emblem of the State of Maharashtra is a circular seal depicting a Samai Diva Lamp surrounded by 16 lotus blooms. Between the Samai lamp and lotus blossoms is a motto in Sanskrit 'प्रतिपच्चंद्रलेखेव वर्धिष्णुर्विश्व वंदिता महाराष्ट्रस्य राज्यस्य मुद्रा भद्राय राजते' ( Pratipaccandralēkhēva vardhiṣṇurviśva vanditā mahārāṣṭrasya rājyasya mudrā bhadrāya rājatē ), which translates as ‘The Glory of this Seal of the State Government of Maharashtra will Grow like the First day Moon. It will be worshipped by the world and will shine only for the well being of its people’. The motto is based on one found on the (rajmudra) ‘royal seal’ used by 17th century Maratha king Chhatrapati Shivaji, the only difference being that the name of the monarch is replaced by the name of the State.
