The circular emblem of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Medical Sciences Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital (ABVIMS RMLH) has a blue circle houning a green banyan tree on which, the Staff of Hermes entwined by a pair of serpents. The tree is supported on either side by a swastika and the circle is outlined by a white line. It has a blue border on which its motto in Sanskrit ‘करुणा निष्ठा कौशलम् सेवा’ meaning ‘Compassion Loyalty Skill Service’ is inscribed. These are ensconced by a white circular border with black outline which bears its name. The tree denotes strength, individuality, expression, calmness, growth, the interconnectedness of everything and perpetuity; the Staff refers to medicine and medical profession and the swastikas denotes sun, prosperity and good luck.
