The shield with red outline houses a glowing sun in which an umbrella dome is placed. The bottom of the shield flowing water is depicted. The red and yellow banner is inscribed with the name of the university. The shield symbolises protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the sun denotes life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; the dome denotes achievement, pinnacle and glory; the flowing waters represents Kulbehra river; the laurels represent ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication; the colour red symbolises passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy and celebration and the colour yellow symbolises happiness, energy, vitality, focus and creativity.

UTTARANCHAL UNIVERSITY Uttaranchal University has come a long way since its inception in 2013 providing world class multidisciplinary education. The university's mission is to inculcate the essence of the Sanskrit Shloka ‘पदं हि सर्वत्र गुणैर्निधीयते’ meaning ‘Good Qualities Put their Footprints Everywhere’. The logo of the university has a blue and green abstract pictorial of ‘U’ and on its right a wordmark of its name in capitals thin serif letters with smooth transition of strokes.
