The insignia of the Sikkim International University (SIU) has a circle holding the motifs of Himalayas with flowing rivers; an open book and a traditional lamp. These are ensconced by a circular border with its name and place inscribed. This is further circumscribed by a traditional running design motif of the State. The mountains and the river represent the geography of the university; the open book denotes knowledge, education and wisdom and the traditional lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity.
