Dr. Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya Sagar (DHGV)(A Central University), formerly University of Saugor, was established on July 18, 1946 by Dr. Sir Hari Singh Gour by his lifetime savings. The university’s emblem is circular with motifs of a mountain, rising sun, a waterbody and lotus with leaves. It is circumscribed by its name, name of its founder and its motto in Sanskrit ‘असतो मा सदगमय’ meaning ‘From Ignorance to Knowledge’.

KARNATAKA POLICE Police in Karnataka were called by various names in different regions. After initiation of policing, they were initially called Thoti, Talwar, Umbalidhar, Kattubidi, Neeraganti etc. The police primarily with policing used to do other jobs entrusted to them. JAL JEEVAN MISSION Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) was launched by the Government of India on August15, 2019 in partnership with the States, to enable every household in villages to have Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC) in the next 5 years. It is envisaged that with FHTC, each household will have supply of potable water (at least 55 lpcd as prescribed in BIS 10500:2012) on regular and long-term basis. To implement the mission, institutional arrangements at various levels have been made and State’s PHE and RWS Departments are to play a critical role. They have to help Gram Panchayat (GP) and / or its sub-committee to plan, implement, manage, operate and maintain its in-village water supply systems. NATIONAL SECURITY GUARD The National Security Guard (NSG) was set up in 1984 as a Federal Contingency Deployment Force to tackle all facets of terrorism in the country.
