RAJIV GANDHI UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES

The emblem of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) is an expression of the confluence of both Eastern and Western Health Sciences. It has a staff with entwined a pair of serpents and wings, symbolising Gods of Health - Hermes and Mercury, is adapted as a symbol of medicine and medical sciences. The pot atop the wand is Amrutha Kalasham of Dhanvanthri, the father of all health sciences. The wings represent the human soul called Hamsa. The rising sun symbolises knowledge and enlightenment. The pair of twigs of leaves symbolise olive branches Vanaspathi (Aushadi) held in the hands of Dhanvanthri. The lamp at the bottom depicts human energy or kundalini. The motto inscribed at the bottom in Sanskrit ‘देवहितम यदायुः’ (1.89.8, Rig Veda) meaning ‘May we Live the Full Span of Our Lives allotted by God in Perfect Health’.

RAJMATA VIJAYARAJE SCINDIA KRISHI VISHWA VIDYALAYA The Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Gwalior was established by Government of Madhya Pradesh on August 19, 2008 by bifurcating the JNKVV, Jabalpur. The green toned circular emblem of the university has a motif of a farmer tilling the soil using cattle and plough placed over an open book signifying the knowledge, wisdom and education of agriculture. Below this its motto in Sanskrit ‘कृषि मूलम् जगत् सर्वम्’ meaning ‘Agriculture is the Root of the World’ is written. All these are ensconced in two circular borders, of which one carries its name and place in English and the outer one carries its name and place in Devanagari supported by a pair of wheat ears. The ears of wheat signifies prosperity, food, wealth and nourishment and the colour green signifies agriculture, nature, growth, balance, harmony, environment, prosperity, vitality, prestige, wealth and being very down to earth.

DIRECTORATE OF FORENSIC SCIENCE SERVICES During 1983, the then Scientific Advisory Committee to the Cabinet (SAC-C) under the overall guidance of an Expert Committee chaired by Prof. M. M. Sharma, FRS, recommended that the laboratories in Delhi, Calcutta and Hyderabad must be developed as Science and Technology institutions, functioning in an autonomous fashion. Accordingly, the Government of India declared the forensic science Institutions, as Science and Technology institutions. In the first phase, the three Central Forensic Science Laboratories at Calcutta, Hyderabad, and Chandigarh were restructured into six scientific division viz. Biology, Ballistics, Chemistry, Explosive, Physics and Toxicology. Similarly, the offices of the Government Examiners of Questioned Documents at Shimla, Calcutta and Hyderabad were strengthened in terms of manpower under a directorate named Directorate of Forensic Science - DFS. The vignetted blue to cyan colour circular logo has a partial structure of atom on top and its acronyms in Devanagari and English. The motto of the institution is written along the circumference in Devanagari ‘राष्ट्र की सेवा में परमाणु’ meaning ‘Atoms in the Service of the Nation, above and below respectively in grey.
