The emblem of Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University (DPSRU) has an open book with images of molecular structure and a graph denoting science and medical diagnosis; the Staff of Caduceus or the Staff of Hermes with a pair of red wings and entwined serpents denoting medicine and medical profession, ensconced by a blue border which carries the name and acronym of the university separated by a pair of laurels. Below the seal, on a yellow banner, its motto in Sanskrit ‘उद्यमः कार्य साधकः’ meaning ‘Enterprise is the Seeker of Action’ is inscribed. The open book symbolises education, learning, knowledge and wisdom; the laurels symbolise ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication; the colour blue symbolises serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty and the colour yellow denotes happiness, energy, vitality, focus and creativity.
