The emblem of Nanaji Deshmukh Pashu Chikitsa Vigyan Vishwavidyalaya (NDVSU) has a blue circular border bearing the name and place of the university inscribed. It houses a white circular border and a light blue circle. Its motto in Sanskrit ‘जीवोः रक्षति रक्षितः’ meaning ‘Life Protects Those Who Protect It’ and its year of inception are written on the white border. On the light blue circle, motifs of Staff of Hermes with a pair of entwined serpents and wings and crested by rising sun; a hen, a tiger, a fish and cattle representing veterinary medicine and science. The sun denotes life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity.
