RAJASTHAN UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS) was established under the Act of State Government The Rajasthan University of Health Sciences Act, 2005 (Act No. 1 of 2005) on February 25, 2005. The emblem of the university is circular and made up of elements in yellow, orange and red shades. At its centre is the map of Rajasthan State with a staff encircled with a pair of serpents and wings symbolising Greek and Roman Gods of health called Hermes and Mercury adapted as a symbol of modern medical science along with the year of its establishment ‘2006 A.D’. The map is encircled by a pair of twigs of leaves which in Western philosophy symbolises Olive branches which is an expression of peace, love and harmony. Indian philosophy depicts the vanaspathi (also called aushadhi) held in the hands of Dhanvantri (God of Indian medicine), which is the source of all medicines.
