GOVERNMENT ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE, VANUR (GASC VANUR) The emblem of Government Arts and Science College, Vanur (GASC Vanur) features a lotus supporting the gopuram of Sri Ukkira Kaliamman Temple, an open book and a kuthuvilakku (a traditional lamp) ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. Below the seal, on a banner, the motto of the college ‘Confidence Courage Commitment’ is inscribed. The gopuram symbolises the places’s history, heritage and divine blessings and guidance; the lotus denotes purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; the book refers to learning, education, knowledge and wisdom and the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity.
