CHRISTIAN MEDICAL COLLEGE, VELLORE (CMC) The emblem of Christian Medical College, Vellore (CMC) features a Staff of Aesculapius crested with an open palm, entwined by a pair of entwined snakes and supported by a pair of wings crest; surmounted by its motto ‘Not to be Ministered Unto But to Minister’; and supported by a the name of place of the college. This assemblage is supported on sides by a pair of laurels and by a traditional lamp at the bottom. The Staff of Aesculapius denotes medicine and medical profession; the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication; the lamp symbolises purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty.
