VIVEKANANDA COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, AGASTEESWARAM (VCEA) The blue colour shield-shaped emblem of Vivekananda College of Education, Agasteeswaram (VCEA) features a portrait of Swami Vivekananda surrounded by a ‘kuthuvilakku’ (a traditional lamp), an open book, a trophy and a mortarboard hat. The name of the college is written above the shield. The motto of the college ‘Education is Wealth’ is written on a blue banner placed below the shield. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the lamp symbolises the light of knowledge dispelling the darkness of ignorance; book refers to knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; the trophy symbolises hardwork, competitiveness, success and achievement; and the mortarboard hat or Oxford hat denotes educational achievement, equality, tradition and rights of passage.
