GOVERNMENT ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE, NAGERCOIL (GASC NAGERCOIL) The emblem of Government Arts and Science College, Nagercoil (GASC Nagercoil) features a circle with the image of Sri Nagaraja Temple holding the images of statue of Poet Thiruvalluvar on the sea of Kanyakumari, a pair of coconut trees, An open book with a lamp, and a gopuram ensconced by a green circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college in Tamil. The motto of the college in Tamil ‘கல்வியே முழுமை’ meaning ‘Education is Completeness’ is written above the images.The circle is placed on a light green floral spread. The temple and the gopuram signifies the history and heritage of the place and divine grace and guidance; the statue of Thiruvallur is a famous landmark; the coconut trees refer to the local flora; the book refers to education and knowledge; and the lamp symbolises symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity.
