ANNAI THERASA ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE (ATASCTKM) The shield-shaped emblem of Annai Therasa Arts And Science College (ATASCTKM) features a torch with flame, an open book and an image of the sacred Thirukalukundram hill, located near Chengalpattu in Tamil Nadu, which is famous for the 14th-century Sri Vedagiriswarar (Shiva) temple on its summit. It is known as Pakshi Theertham or the ‘Hill of Eagles’. The shield is crested by a rising sun and supported by its name and place in Tamil. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the sun represents life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; the torch with flame is an emblem of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; and the book denotes knowledge, education, learning and wisdom.
