GOVERNMENT ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE, NEMMELI (GASC NEMMELI) The emblem of Government Arts and Science College, Nemmeli (GASC Nemmeli) features a shield housing the motifs of an open book, a graduating student with a mortarboard hat. The shield is supported by a banner inscribed with the motto of the college in Tamil ‘கற்க கற்பிக்க’ meaning ‘Lean Teach’ and surmounted by a banner inscribed with the name and place of the college in Tamil. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the book refers to learning, education, knowledge and wisdom; the human with mortarboard hat refers to educational achievement, equality, tradition and rights of passage.
