DHARMAPURAM GNANAMBIGAI GOVERNMENT ARTS COLLEGE FOR WOMEN (DGGAC) The emblem of Dharmapuram Gnanambigai Government Arts College for Women (DGGAC) features the motifs of a dancing peacock, an open book and a traditional lamp held by a pair of hands of a woman, placed on a blue lotus alongwith the motto of the college in Tamil ‘அறிவு தன்னடக்கம் வாய்மை’ meaning ‘Knowledge Self-control Truthfulness’. The blue lotus signifies purity, enlightenment, spiritual awakening, and beauty across cultures, representing the victory of spirit over senses, association with Lord Vishnu and Lakshmi and wisdom. The peacock symbolises regrowth, rejuvenation, royalty, respect, honour, integrity, beauty, love and passion; the book refers to education, knowledge, learning and wisdom; and the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity. ,
