GOVERNMENT COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING, AMRAVATI (GCOEA) The emblem of Government College of Engineering, Amravati (GCOEA) features a gearwheel housing the motifs of a traditional lamp referring to light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; surrounded by an open book, a rocket and power transmission line referring to knowledge, progress and power respectively. The gearwheel is surmounted by the word ‘Amravati’; supported by a bald eagle or Garuda with its wings spread; and ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name of the college. The gearwheel denotes technology, engineering, interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure; and the bald eagle or Garuda the divine eagle and mount of Lord Vishnu, symbolising strength, protection, loyalty, courage, freedom, and the pursuit of truth.
