GOVERNMENT CUDDALORE MEDICAL AND HOSPITAL (GCMCH)
GOVERNMENT CUDDALORE MEDICAL AND HOSPITAL (GCMCH) The circular emblem of Government Cuddalore Medical and Hospital (GCMCH) features the Staff of Hermes or Staff of Caduceus with a pair of wings and entwined by a pair of serpents and crested by an image of the Golden Roof of the Chidambaram Temple, dedicated to Lord Nataraja (Shiva), is known as the Vimana or roof of the Chit Sabha (Dancing Hall), famously gilded by the Chola King Parantaka I placed in a blue circle. The circle is ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. The staff with snakes has long been a symbol of medicine and the medical profession; and the temple refers to the history and heritage of the place of the college.
