GOVERNMENT ARTS COLLEGE, UDHAGAMANDALAM (GAC UDHAGAMANDALAM) The emblem of Government Arts College, Udhagamandalam (GAC Udhagamandalam) features a shield divided into four quarters housing the motifs of a golden sun over Ooty Lake, a white lilly, a eucalyptus tree (Nilgiri tree) and a ‘Arsh' or 'Dogles’ (Toda house). The motto of the college ‘Do and Dare’ is written on a golden banner placed atop the shield and a red banner below the shield holds the year of inception of the college. All the motifs refer to nature, history and culture of Udhagamandalam; and the shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery.
